PHP / LAMP Team Leader – Technical Lead

Description:

As a PHP team leader, you will be responsible for managing a LAMP development tem and help in designing and developing challenging online applications (including BasharJobs.com – Egypt’s most advanced online recruitment portal) which will help solve much of today’s problems with recruitment.

Day to Day Tasks:

  • Understanding applications and environments
  • Liaising between business and your technical team
  • Support and maintain production systems
  • Identifying tasks and priorities with business
  • Allocating tasks and priorities for the developers
  • Plan resource allocation for projects and enhancements ahead
  • Managing the design, code, test, deployment and support of applications
  • Preparing and maintain system and program documentation as required to assist fellow personnel and customers when testing, supporting and/or using the relevant application
  • Contribution to a proactive and quality-focused environment by leading in the analysis and design of applications programs
  • Modifying and troubleshooting applications and programs during the development phase
  • Providing guidance for continuous improvement of the stability and operational efficiency of the environment
  • Help in analysis, design, and coordination, and supervision of web systems.
  • Utilize all the possible web tools including social networks and web 2.0 concepts.
  • 60% of the role will be hands-on development and architecture for Linux/PHP-based web development.
  • 40% will be project management of web development projects.

Must have qualities/experience:

  • 5+ years of web development experience PHP and MySQL (LAMP)
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and up to date with latest web 2.0 technologies
  • Experience in configuration and maintenance of Apache web server and MySQL
  • Significant experience managing and mentoring teams of developers
  • Self-learner, hacker, and open source advocate
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and programming
  • Experience using PHP Frameworks (CodeIgniter experience is a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
